Back in 1983 I got this little card from the cutest 9th grader. I would have loved to have been his girlfriend, He was so cute. But you know JR High boys so many girls so little time. As time passed ( 7years) We had another chance. (thanks Denise for not marrying Wayne) Definitly a reality shot. not! I know these pictures are so corny . This one is for Lindsey . Nothing says love like a cutural hall background.
The rest is History. Wayne Happy 17th Anniversary. You are my Hero . You rescue me everyday . I love you.
You might recognize this first picture from the intro to the portraits section of my website. Only this is 4 years later. It is kind of spooky how it repeated itself. These are my sisters kids. They have lived by me for almost 9months now. You would think we would have had a portrait session by now ... but we kept having conflicts , bad weather, runny noses. We finally got it done and now they are moving away from me. So I guess this is my goodbye present to them. I will miss them.
Here are some of the Lamb/Arnett Highlights of Londons Run. Pierce, Jackie(my youngest brothers and sister) and Ty(my nephew) ran the half marathon . 13 miles.
Jackie has been training for last 3months. She finished a respectable 4th in her age division at 2:06:02 those are 9 min miles.
You have to hate Pierce. no training. got under 2 hours. at 1:58:14. He said he stayed with Jack for the first 1mile then got irritated with all the soccer moms passing him up. He also decided to come as "Wheres Waldo" . Last year he wore a sponge bob back pack the entire race and grandpa velcro shoes. This year he wore better shoes but didnt take time to break them in thus the monster blisters
Ty is pretty amazing as well not much training but a little cross country in October. He took second in his age division as well.
My girls Jessica, Jancy , Tana ,Shani(my niece) and Taryn ran the 2 mile fun run. I am just as proud of them as well. Good thing they had their ipods to get them through those 2 grueling miles. I am pretty much the same. If I hear myself breathing I am done. I have to drown my self out.
Tommorow is London's run here in Queen Creek. It is a half marathon , 10k , 2mile fun run. All the proceeds go to PCH. londonsrun.org London was my daughter Taryn's friend.
(I cant find the picture of them I want but this one was when they were about 3) I always expected them to grow up together. You know the friend you make in kindergarten through out high school. London died of leukemia (AML) 2 years ago. We miss her. I had the privigledge of photographing her before the disease ravaged her body and during her illness. Youll notice in the color portrait with the black background her tooth was about to come out that day. I remember her mother telling me the irony of her losing here tooth was even as the disease was destroying her body it was still trying to move forward with new life. As you can tell London had a lot of spunk even as she knew she was dying. In life and even in her dying she touched many lives and with this event tommorow she continues be an inspiration.
