Tahnee and Travis

I was running the other morning, contemplating the drama in my life. I was using my little sisters ipod and this song came on that said exactly what I was feeling.

"Everyone lets you down sometime, it is just a matter of how far down they go."

Profound huh? So I was thinking how far down is directly proportional to how close you are to them. We have all experienced betrayal of some kind, it just seems to hurt a lot more when you think you are safe.

So here is the purpose of my post. How do you teach your children that even though this is bound to happen that the rewards of trust and friendship outweigh the hurt of deception and betrayal. The are just part of the risk.

ok I know I am not usually very cerebral but I have my moments. :)

Retro

I saw this mustang when I was walking out of the Walmart parking lot. I knew it would be perfect for this photo shoot. I gave the guy in the car my card and asked if he would be interested in trading a photoshoot for the use of his car. Too funny. He went home and his wife agreed. She happens to be an "artist" as well. She decorates some fabulous cakes. Her website is designercakesbyapril.com Turns out she has been the cake decorator for some of my weddings. Small world.

I took my girls to Utah for a Efy last week. I did a little work while I was up there. I have a Bride and Groom who are up there for summer school ... so what better place to do Bride and Groom portraits(those pics to come later). Small detail , I need a piece of furniture. I told my husband I wanted to tie down my sette to the top of my suv. He has been married to me long enough to know I was serious. So I drive 800 miles with it on top of my car. I know I am certifiable but what are you going to do. You have to be true to yourself :)

Lucky for my cousins with cute toddlers and small children. They seemed to think it was normal. I love these pics of their kids. Small note this is where my "career " started. I took a photography class at the Y that started my passion. Some of my favorite pics from that class have the same snow covered mountains and the same train. Some things never change.

Dusty
